Recipes for Turkey Leftovers, Party Buffets & Candy
Christmas is the time of the year when you can get away with feasting on rich foods and watching lots of TV, and it also happens to be my favorite time of year! There are plenty of foods associated with Christmas, and I've compiled my favorites as well as the classics here on this page.
The traditional main meal is roast turkey with a variety of winter vegetables, but there are also a few alternatives including ham, gammon or pork, which I have provided recipes for below. As for desserts and sweets, there are Christmas puddings, chocolate cakes, Yule logs, cookies, candy and lots more besides. You will also find my favorite recipe for honey and mustard sausages which would make yummy snacks for party buffets.
I hope you find lots of recipes to try :)
Honey & Mustard Sausage Recipe - Perfect for Party Buffets
I'm a big fan of the classic honey and mustard combination anyway, but these sausages are particularly yummy! They're ideal for a party buffet or as a snack to share at a Christmas family get-together. Trust me, when we have these (served warm) they disappear extremely quickly :)
Ingredients:
* Approx. 500g of cocktail (mini) sausages; preferably pork
If you want to use more (or less) sausages, adjust the rest of the ingredient amounts accordingly.
* 3 tbsp honey
* 2 tbsp wholegrain mustard
* 1 tbsp freshly chopped rosemary, plus a few sprigs of rosemary (optional)
* Cocktail sticks
* Oven
* Ceramic baking dish
- Pre-heat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan/390°F/gas mark 6.
- Mix the chopped rosemary, honey and mustard together in a bowl.
- Add the sausages and mix them around carefully to make sure they all get a good coating.
- Pour the sausages into a ceramic baking dish, spreading them out evenly. Pour any leftover marinade from the bowl over the sausages.
- Bake them in the oven for 20 minutes, stirring the sausages every 5 minutes or so. The sausages are ready when they are brown in color and the sauce is very sticky.
- Leave to cool slightly and serve - with a few rosemary sprigs sprinkled over the top.
- Enjoy!
